General Summary:

As a Family Dollar Assistant Store Manager, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our customers and assisting the Store Manager in daily store operations. Responsibilities include maintaining inventories, store appearance, and completing daily paperwork.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

• Greet and assist customers in a positive, approachable manner. Answer questions and resolve inquiries and concerns.
• Maintain a presence in the store by providing excellent customer service.
• Ensure a clean, well-stocked store for customers.
• Supervise, train, and develop Store Associates on operating practices and procedures.
• Assist in unloading merchandise, organizing, and transferring stock from the stockroom to the store.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, record keeping, payroll, scheduling, and cash handling.
• Support loss prevention efforts.
• Assume management responsibilities in the absence of the Store Manager.
• Follow all company policies and procedures.

Position Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Ability to interpret operational directives.
• Experience in retail, grocery, or drug store management preferred.
• Physical ability to lift up to 40 lbs regularly, and up to 55 lbs occasionally, with frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, and pulling.
• Availability to work flexible full-time schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Skills: Customer focus, developing potential, results-driven, organizational skills, communication, problem-solving, job knowledge, and relationship management.
