General Manager - Amtrak role at Aramark 2 days ago Be among the first 25 applicants Job Description The Assistant General Manager manages the day-to-day operations of the Commissary by effectively managing Warehouse Managers, Supervisors, Leads, Drivers, and Warehouse Workers, interfacing with Amtrak personnel. As a senior leader in the operations function, the Assistant General Manager implements and drives strategies to achieve Company and client objectives. The Assistant General Manager has full ownership of the operations in the General Manager’s absence. Job Responsibilities Coaches, trains, and develops warehouse managers to increase effectiveness and efficiency. Leads recognition and safety culture, utilizing leadership skills to enhance client partnerships. Troubleshoots and resolves safety, service, and operational problems in collaboration with warehouse and administrative functions. Manages Warehouse Operations Managers and staff to ensure operational excellence across all warehouse/commissary areas, including inventory management system (WIMS) and related equipment; ensures inventory is received, issued, and processed safely and efficiently, complying with SOPs. Assists GM in evaluating work methods, procedures, controls, and staffing to ensure accurate and timely movement and processing of products. Ensures warehouse layout is optimized for efficiency. Recruits, hires, trains, coaches, and counsels warehouse staff, providing ongoing support and development. Sets goals and provides performance feedback through formal and informal means. Ensures daily operations run as scheduled. Maintains all business records, documentation, and administrative standards, including personnel records, train deliveries, inventories, and compliance with DOT requirements. Manages labor, schedule adherence, overtime, and wage & hour compliance. Models and leads safety initiatives, fostering a positive work environment. Ensures effective communication at all organizational levels. Supports GM in achieving operational, personnel, process, and service objectives, leading continuous improvement efforts. Develops and trains warehouse managers through formal programs and informal coaching, ensuring compliance with labor agreements and policies. Promotes a safety-first culture, monitoring safety and operational metrics regularly. Prepares and executes action plans for FDA, Business Process Compliance, and Wage & Hour audits. Qualifications 3-5 years of relevant experience leading an operations team. Experience in customer service leadership, foodservice or route sales operations, performance management, and personnel development is advantageous. Bachelor's degree preferred. Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain DOT certification for operating DOT-regulated vehicles. Strong communication, organization, multitasking, and computer skills. Ability to work independently. Familiarity with inventory control and handling perishable products. Industry background in vending, food service, route distribution, or retail. Availability to work various shifts in a 24/7 operation.
