Job Description Title: Central Intake Clinical Specialist Reports to: Director of Central Intake & Census Development, VP of Network Services Summary The Central Intake Clinical Specialist reviews patient referrals promptly, responding with acceptance or denial. Primary sources are hospitals, but referrals from other healthcare facilities may also be reviewed. The role focuses on census development by expediting acceptances and increasing volume, ensuring admission growth. Responsibilities include creating summaries of patient data, maintaining logs, tracking denial reasons, proactively communicating with referral sources, and addressing challenging cases to meet patient needs. The role involves building relationships with referral partners through timely follow-up and may require remote or on-site work, with occasional in-person meetings and event attendance. Candidates with RN or LPN licenses are preferred; non-licensed healthcare professionals with relevant experience are also considered. Strong computer skills, self-motivation, and professional communication skills are essential.
