360X Staffing is hiring for a Marine Diesel Mechanic in Jacksonville, FL.

Pay: $40-45/hr + $120 daily per diem for days worked

Job Description:

This hands-on job involves installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines and equipment, particularly those of CAT, MTU, CUMMINS, and VOLVO PENTA brands. Work is performed in the shop and (primarily) on-board customer vessels.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in installing, maintaining, repairing, and overhauling marine diesel engines and related equipment, focusing on CAT, MTU, CUMMINS, and VOLVO PENTA engines.

• Generate written and electronic reports containing inspection data, measurements, failure information, and other job-related results for the specific engine brands.

• Follow work package procedures, schedules, and quality standards according to the project statement of work for CAT, MTU, CUMMINS, and VOLVO PENTA engines.

• Ensure proper use, maintenance, and cleanliness of company and customer-furnished equipment and facilities related to the designated engine brands.

• Accountable for timely and accurate expense management, including labor charges and material usage for CAT, MTU, CUMMINS, and VOLVO PENTA engine services.

• Perform additional duties as directed by management in relation to the specified engine brands.

Requirements:

• Awareness of engine design and operation, with a focus on CAT, MTU, CUMMINS, and VOLVO PENTA engines.

• Understanding of marine applications and propulsion systems related to the specified engine brands.

• Ability to perform mechanical maintenance and repairs as directed by engine specifications and manufacturer guidelines.

• Awareness of electrical/electronic systems maintenance and repair, especially in relation to marine diesel engines.

• Proficiency in performing engine/component tests and recording measurements for CAT, MTU, CUMMINS, and VOLVO PENTA engines.

• Willingness to travel frequently (>50%) domestically and internationally for engine service and repair needs.

• Comfort working on seaborn vessels and in uncomfortable working environments for extended hours to service the designated engine brands.

• Physical ability to stand, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crawl in confined spaces, and lift/move up to 85 pounds.

• Effective communication skills (verbal and written) for internal and external engine-related interactions.

• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office and other PC functions to document engine tasks and activities effectively.

• Ability to comprehend technical drawings and specifications, particularly for CAT, MTU, CUMMINS, and VOLVO PENTA engines.

• - Willingness to work overtime as required by engine repair demands.

• - Ability to perform under pressure from strict deadlines with limited resources for engine servicing.

• - Possession of an active state-issued driver’s license and eligibility to work in the United States as a U.S. citizen or legal resident.

Working Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday

Working Hours: 50+ hours per week
