The firm is seeking a Government Relations Director to support advocacy efforts across a diverse client base. This role will work closely with clients and internal teams to drive federal policy objectives through strategic engagement with Capitol Hill and regulatory agencies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a strategic advisor on client teams, contributing to lobbying and advocacy initiatives.

  • Track policy developments and provide timely, strategic updates and analysis to clients.
  • Draft a range of legislative materials including bill language, floor statements, hearing prep, and briefing memos.
  • Conduct in-depth policy research and prepare advocacy documents, talking points, and handouts.
  • Represent the firm and its clients at political events, using PAC resources as appropriate.
  • Travel occasionally for client meetings, briefings, or conferences.

Skills & Proficiencies:

  • Strong understanding of federal legislative and regulatory processes.
  • Clear and persuasive writing skills tailored to a range of audiences including policymakers.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • High level of discretion and professional judgment.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience on Capitol Hill or in a federal agency (e.g., legislative staffer, committee staff, or agency policy role).
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with Members of Congress, agency officials, and senior stakeholders.
  • Experience drafting policy documents and providing strategic legislative advice.
  • Strong academic record (GPA of 3.3 or higher preferred).
  • Stable and consistent career history.

Salary & Benefits:

  • Competitive base salary ranging from $150,000 to $250,000, based on experience.
  • Performance-based bonus structure.
  • Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, and 401(k).
  • Generous paid time off and firm holidays.
  • Professional development support and mentorship from senior leadership.

Additional Notes:
Only candidates with relevant legislative or regulatory experience and a strong academic background will be considered. Candidates with unstable work histories or primarily contract-based experience will not be considered.
