JOB SUMMARY The DC Power FC Marketing Department are looking for a talented and enthusiastic undergraduate or graduate student aspiring to enter the sports marketing industry to join us as the Graphic Design Intern for the 2025/26 Season. This internship will allow you to learn about all club content and communication efforts, collaborate with multiple department teams, and learn essential graphic design practices for your professional growth to gain meaningful career experience.
COMPENSATION
This is an unpaid intern. The selected candidate must be enrolled in an accredited college or university and receive course credit for participating in this internship.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - Assist in the creation of visual assets for traditional and digital marketing channels under the direction of senior designers.
- Support the development of logos and identity concepts for internal initiatives, events, and partner programs, with guidance from the design team.
- Contribute to the design of in-game graphics and simple animations for social and digital media.
- Help adapt design elements to maintain brand consistency across a variety of materials, using established brand guidelines.
- Collaborate with photographers and videographers to support creative content production that aligns with organizational goals.
- Work with the brand and creative teams to assist in the development and refinement of visual assets and branding materials.
- Help maintain and organize visual style guides and brand documentation for internal and external use.
- Assist in preparing images for use through basic color correction and retouching, with support from senior team members.
- Prepare layout drafts and assist with print production setup.
- Learn from and be mentored by senior designers, gaining experience in design execution and professional creative processes.
- Perform additional design-related tasks and projects as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS - Eligible to receive college credit for the internship.
- Dedicate a maximum of 25 hours a week to the internship from July 2025 to early November 2025. With the option to extend through the Spring season.
- Pursuing a college degree, preferably in communications, marketing, multimedia, or related field.
- Experience in sports and soccer is a plus.
- Work may require matchday, weekends, and/or evening work.
- The selected candidate must pass a background check.
COMPETENCIES (KSAs) - Strong sense of design and thorough understanding of design theory, including principles such as color, typography, and composition.
- Advanced ability in Adobe Creative Suite InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects, and other graphic design technologies.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make informed design decisions.
- Strong organizational and time management skills and attention to detail.
- Strong ability to multi-task and prioritize.
- A passion for sports.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work nights and weekends to assist in game night coverage.
