We provide support for patients and families, promote awareness of preventive measures, and drive policy changes to improve the lives of those affected by this disease. Our team is passionate about making a difference, and we are looking for a Communications Coordinator to join us in our mission. 

 

Postion Overview:  

The Marketing Coordinator will play a pivotal role in coordinating Fight CRC's communication strategies across various platforms. Focus will be on email marketing. This position requires a highly organized and proactive individual who can ensure our messaging is timely, impactful, and aligned with our mission. You will be responsible for content coordination, strategic participation, and supporting internal communications to enhance our outreach and engagement efforts. 

 

Key Responsibilities:  

  • Email Marketing Creation and Strategy:  
  • Designs Mailchimp templates and sends email tests for approval (at least two days prior to send date) 
  • Provide timely updates around newsletter timelines within the appropriate Teams Channel as we make progress (i.e., marking emails as “drafted”, “tested”, “scheduled”, and “sent”) 
  • Schedules newsletters for delivery and updates manager on performance 
  •  
  • Content Creation and Storytelling  
  • Initiate requests for content when needed; help ensure content goes through a thorough review process. 
  • Writes and edits email copy before finalizing within Mailchimp 
  •  
  • Creative Collaboration and Project Coordinating:  
  • Attend and actively participate in team meetings, providing insights and updates on communication activities and strategy. 
  • Help maintain Mailchimp database, contact lists, content calendars, and CRM integrations 
  • Coordinates with teams to obtain all details and logistics for each email (i.e., webinar & donation links, images, graphics, and segmented audience lists) 
  • Coordinates with the social team to make sure email content is aligned with the social media calendar 
  • Work alongside Marketing Manager and team members to ensure deadlines are shared and met, demonstrating a positive attitude and a willingness to jump in and support the team wherever needed. Your collaborative spirit and proactive approach will be crucial in helping the team meet its goals and maintain a high standard of communication.

Preferred Qualifications/Skills:  

  • Associates degree or higher or relevant work experience 
  • 1 year of experience in a communications role or relevant internship experience, preferably in a nonprofit or health-related organization. 
  • Proficient knowledge and understanding of Mailchimp
  • Intermediate knowledge of SEO, Mailchimp Analytics, and digital marketing best practices 
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills 
  • Familiarity with AP Style Guidelines 
  • Experience with Microsoft Office programs 
  • Strong organizational and project management skills 
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote team environment. 
  • Familiarity with analytics tools to measure content effectiveness.
