Job Title: Medical Assistant - Construction Site
Location: Boydton, VA Position Type: Full Time, Onsite
One full-time: 36 hours per week each - 12pm to 6pm Monday to Saturday
One full-time (night shift 6pm to 2am Monday to Friday): 40 hours per week
Overview: We are seeking a reliable, compassionate, and detail-oriented
Medical Assistant to support the health and safety of employees at an active construction site. This position includes providing first aid care, supporting health and wellness initiatives, maintaining medical compliance records, and conducting drug screenings for new hires. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a field environment, can work independently, and has experience in both clinical and occupational health settings.
Key Responsibilities: - Provide basic first aid and triage for minor injuries and medical incidents onsite
- Monitor and support the management of workplace injuries , including documentation and follow-up under direction of occupational health staff or a nurse
- Support the coordination of care for employees needing offsite medical attention
- Conduct pre-employment drug screenings and assist with ongoing testing protocols in accordance with company policy and compliance standards
- Maintain accurate records of screenings and compliance data in a secure and organized manner
- Assist with onsite wellness checks , such as blood pressure monitoring and other health screenings
- Maintain and restock medical supplies and first aid kits
- Keep detailed, confidential records of medical incidents , including OSHA logs and incident reports
- Support return-to-work assessments as needed
- Assist with health and safety promotion efforts, including hydration, sun safety, and proper lifting education
- Ensure the medical trailer or office space is clean, organized, and compliant with health and safety standards
Qualifications: - Completion of a Medical Assistant program (CMA, RMA, or equivalent preferred)
- Current CPR and First Aid certification (required)
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience (experience in occupational health, urgent care, or emergency setting preferred)
- Experience performing drug screenings and maintaining compliance documentation strongly preferred
- Excellent documentation and communication skills
- Ability to work independently in a dynamic and physically active environment
Work Environment: - Construction site setting with regular exposure to outdoor weather, dust, noise, and physical activity
- Must be able to walk, stand, and climb stairs/ladders as required
- PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) will be provided and required
