Job Opportunity Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance (BHSI) has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Property Underwriter located in Atlanta, GA. We seek a dedicated, intelligent, and passionate individual striving for excellence. Responsibilities include developing business within distribution channels, prequalifying accounts, and utilizing underwriting expertise to select property risks within the company's risk appetite. Expand and develop new business opportunities through production & marketing calls with brokers and customers. Duties & Responsibilities Develop and build the property book of business including primary and excess layers Establish, develop, and expand broker and customer relationships Identify and prequalify new business Work in a fast-paced environment, multi-task, and make quick decisions while maintaining underwriting integrity Underwrite Fire and CAT exposures Qualifications, Skills And Experience 5+ years property insurance experience Strong existing broker relationships, especially within the retail brokerage community Strong underwriting acumen Experience with policy forms, including broker manuscripts Proven customer relationship skills Understanding of CAT peril modeling and pricing Collaboration and team-building skills Willingness to travel Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills BHSI Offers Competitive salary and growth opportunities Dynamic, action-oriented environment centered on doing right by our stakeholders Simplified organizational structure emphasizing individual excellence within a team Benefits supporting your well-being, including Health, Dental, Vision, Disability, Life Insurance, Flexible Spending, HRA, Employee Assistance, 401(k), paid time off, tuition reimbursement, and parental leave The base salary range in Atlanta is $105,000 to $165,000, plus annual bonus.
