\nWe are seeking a dedicated Respiratory Therapist to join our dynamic care team in an adult, acute care, Level 1 Trauma Center environment. The ideal candidate is patient-focused, team-oriented, and committed to delivering high-quality respiratory care. This role is responsible for performing a variety of respiratory therapy treatments, responding to emergency situations, and ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout all respiratory procedures.

\n Respiratory Therapist Job Responsibilities \n

\n\t
• Confirm and interpret physician orders to assess appropriateness of therapy and ensure quality patient care.\n\t
• Perform and document assessments, monitor patient tolerance and response to therapy, and notify healthcare team of any unusual reactions or concerns.\n\t
• Educate patients on procedures, addressing questions and concerns in a respectful, compassionate manner.\n\t
• Administer medical gases, aerosol therapy, bronchodilators, and other medications in accordance with protocols.\n\t
• Set up, operate, and maintain respiratory equipment, including:\n\t
  \n\t\t
  • PB 980 & PB 840 ventilators\n\t\t
  • V60 non-invasive ventilator\n\t\t
  • ParaPacPlus transport ventilator\n\t\t
  • Epoc hand-held blood analyzer\n\t
  \n\t\n\t
• Participate in emergency response situations, including CPR and rapid response events.\n\t
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams, contribute to quality improvement initiatives, and provide input on protocol development.\n\t
• Accurately complete documentation, including medical records and billing information.\n\t
• Participate in educational outreach to patients, families, students, and fellow healthcare providers.\n\t
• Maintain clinical competency through ongoing education and in-services.\n

• Education: \n\n\t
  \n\t\t
  • Graduate of an AMA or CoARC-accredited Respiratory Therapy program (Registry Eligible).\n\t
  \n\t\n\t
• Licensure & Certification: \n\t
  \n\t\t
  • Valid Ohio Respiratory Care Professional (RCP) license issued by the State Medical Board of Ohio.\n\t\t
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) required.\n\t\t
  • CRTs must obtain RRT credential within 120 days of employment.\n\t\t
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.\n\t
