Job Description

A K-12 school in Hopkins, MN is seeking a dedicated Behavior Specialist to join their team on a contract basis for the upcoming school year. This role focuses on supporting students by implementing behavior intervention strategies and promoting positive behavioral outcomes within an educational setting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized behavior intervention plans to support students with diverse behavioral needs.
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to assess student behavior and progress.
• Conduct functional behavior assessments and gather data to inform intervention decisions.
• Provide training and guidance to school staff on behavior management techniques and best practices.
• Monitor and document student behavior, adjusting strategies as necessary to maximize effectiveness.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to contribute to comprehensive student support plans.

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience working as a Behavior Specialist or in a related role within K-12 education settings.
• Strong knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and other behavior intervention methods.
• Ability to conduct functional behavior assessments and develop individualized behavior support plans.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with school personnel and families.
• Familiarity with data collection and documentation related to student behavior and progress.
• Relevant certification or license related to behavior analysis or special education is preferred.

Location: Hopkins, MN
Duration: Contract for the upcoming school year (NSY)
